INTRODUCTION

Calvert fully describes its privacy practices below in this "Privacy Policy" (or "Policy"). This summary provides an overview of some important information regarding our use and sharing of your information. Please read the entire Privacy Policy very carefully. By using any service, you agree to be bound by this privacy policy in its entirety and are also subject to the applicable terms of service.

Calvert Homeschool ("Calvert", "we", "us", or "our") is owned by Imagine Learning LLC and provides education print curriculum to families seeking to provide home-based education to their K-5 students.

This Privacy Policy provides notice to our customers and website visitors about our privacy practices regarding information we collect when you interact with Calvert website https://www.calverthomeschool.com/ or use Calvert print services (each, a "Service" and collectively, the "Services")

WHAT INFORMATION DOES CALVERT COLLECT?

The information that we collect is primarily used to communicate with you and to provide and maintain access to Calvert's Services.

Information Shared with Us: We may collect "Personal Information" (information that can reasonably be used alone or in combination with other reasonably available information, to identify or contact a specific individual). Personal Information includes, but is not limited to, contact information, metadata, and user content. Any information combined with Personal Information will be treated as Personal Information. Below is a list of information collected across our Services.

  • Profile and Contact Information: We receive contact or other profile information when you sign up for or interact with Calvert Services, which may include name, shipping address, phone number, email address, or other information you choose to provide to us. We may link this information to the different devices or accounts you use when you interact with Calvert Services.
  • Device Information: We receive information about the computers, phones, and other devices you use or interact with Calvert Services, including IP address (which may be used to determine general location), device identifiers, cookie IDs, the browser you use, your network connection, or other unique identifiers or device information.
  • Billing and Payment Information: We receive billing and payment information when you make a purchase through Calvert Services, such as your billing address, billing phone number, payment card number and expiration date.
  • Communications with Calvert: We receive information, including message and email content, when you communicate with Calvert (such as for customer support inquiries, contact us by email, taking surveys, participating in promotions or research).
  • Website Interaction and Settings: We receive information regarding your use and interactions with our Calvert website http://calverthomeschool.com such the products you view and visit, the product reviews and ratings you post and share, your order history, your interactions with search or other marketing activities related to the Calvert Services.
  • Email and Shopping Service Integrations: We receive information from email messages in the inboxes that you connect to your Calvert account. We do not use this information for advertising or marketing purposes.

Cookies: Like many other websites and apps, we use "cookies" (a small file sent to your computer by a website or app to store information that identifies you) to help us understand and assist you better. For example, cookies help our systems recognize you if you come back to our Services shortly after leaving. You can always turn off cookies in your browser or device settings, but remember that if you do, some (or all) of the features and functions of our Services might not work for you. How We Respond to Do Not Track Signals: Your web browser might have a setting called "Do Not Track" (DNT) which tells websites that you don't want them to keep track of what you do online. Information Received from other Websites: Sometimes, other websites give us information about you. For example, if you are on another website and say you want to get information from us, that website will send us your information so we can contact you. We will handle any personal information we get from these websites according to this Privacy Policy and our agreements with them. We might also combine this information with the personal information we collect through our Services. Any combined information will be treated as Personal Information according to this Privacy Policy.

If you post information on a public website, like a social media site, and mention Calvert or our Services, your post might be shown on our Services according to that website's rules. These features might collect your IP address or other unique identifier and the page you are visiting on our website. They might also set a cookie to make the feature work properly. When you use a feature from another website through our Services, that website might also get information about you and how you use our Services. Your interactions with these links and features are governed by the privacy policies of those websites.

The information we collect is subject to this Privacy Policy. The information collected and stored by other websites is subject to their privacy practices. This includes whether they keep sharing information with us, the types of information shared, and your choices about what is visible to others on that website. The other website might let you remove the application or feature, in which case we will no longer collect information about you through that application or feature. However, we might keep the information we already collected in compliance with all applicable laws.

WHAT DOES CALVERT DO WITH PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We may use your Personal Information and other information collected through the website for the following purposes:

  • To Provide the Services: We use your information to verify your registration, to allow you to participate in features we offer, to contact you regarding the Services, and for billing and account management.
  • To Operate the Websites: Your information may be used to tailor content, recommendations and offers we display to you, both on the Services and elsewhere online, as well as to analyze usage of the Services and popularity and performance of our Sites.
  • To Communicate with You: We use your information to respond to your requests, comments and questions.
  • To Improve the Services: Your information may be used to improve the quality and types of services that we deliver.
  • To Send Marketing Communications: We may send marketing communications to current users. Additionally, anyone may sign up to receive communications from us regarding new or existing offerings or other materials that may be of interest. Anyone who receives these communications may unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in any e-mail. Children under the age of 18 are prohibited from signing up for marketing communications and will be unsubscribed if we become aware of a child under the age of 18 signing up to receive these communications. Children will not receive any marketing on their accounts.
  • For Business Purpose and Research: We may use anonymous data to perform research and for lawful business purposes such as administrative matters.
  • For Compliance, Fraud Prevention, and Safety: We use your information as we believe is necessary or appropriate to (a) enforce our terms and conditions; (b) protect our (and your) rights, privacy, safety or property; and (c) protect, investigate, and deter against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical, or illegal activity.
  • To Comply with Law: We use your information as we believe necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal process (such as responding to subpoenas or requests from government authorities).
  • With Your Consent: In some cases, we may ask for your consent to collect, use, or share your Personal Information, such as when required by law or agreements with third parties.

De-identified and Aggregate Data: Calvert may also aggregate, de-identify, and/or anonymize any information collected through the Calvert Services in such a way that we cannot reasonably link information to you or your device. We may use such aggregate, de-identified, or anonymous information for any purpose, including, for example, to improve the Calvert service. In this Privacy Policy, we refer to such data as "De-Identified Data" and do not consider it to be Personal Information. We do not attempt to re-identify information that has been de-identified.

HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION?

Calvert may share Personal Information for the following purposes.

  • Vendors: We use third-party service providers to provide a variety of services, like providing customer support, giving us information about how people use our services, helping us with marketing, sending and tracking emails, providing content for learning, storing data, and finding and fixing problems in our services. Third parties can only use your personal information to do the services we ask them to do.
  • Legal Reasons: We may share your information if we think we need to because of laws or rules (for example, if we get a court order or a subpoena) or if we believe sharing is necessary to stop illegal activities, suspected fraud, or possible threats to someone's safety. We may also share your information to investigate and act on possible violations of our rules or the law, and in response to bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Marketing, Advertising, and Analytics Partners: We may use third-party marketing, advertising, and business analytics partners to deliver personalized advertising and to help us understand how people use or interact with Calvert services. These partners may receive information about your use of, or interactions with, Calvert services, including through third-party cookies or other technologies. For example, we may make information available to third-party advertising companies to serve you with relevant ads or content and to manage, improve and measure our advertising campaigns. Providing information to third parties for personalized advertising services may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, or "targeted advertising," as defined by applicable law. You may opt out of our sharing of Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising by using the relevant Cookies Settings available here.
  • Affiliates or Partners: with our corporate affiliates, parents, and/or subsidiaries; or
  • Sharing at Your Discretion: in other circumstances that you expressly consent to.

For example, we may display personal testimonials of satisfied users or other endorsements on our Services. With your consent, we may post your testimonial along with your name. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, you can contact us.

We will not sell Personal Information to anyone. However, we may share Personal Information that could be considered a "sale" under the California Consumer Privacy Act such as in connection with the sale of Calvert's equity or assets or a merger of Calvert with another company. Any sale or merger would make sure that your information is still protected by our privacy policy or a policy just as robust.

Third Party Content, Links to other Sites & Integrations: Parts of Calvert Services may link to third party services. Calvert doesn't own or control these third parties. When you interact with these third parties and choose to use their services, your use is subject to the privacy policies of those providers.

Please also note that Calvert content may be included on web pages and websites that are not associated with us and over which we have no control. These third parties may independently collect data. Calvert is not responsible or liable for the privacy practices or business practices of any third party.

MOBILE DEVICE ACCESS

If you use the Services through a mobile device, you agree that Calvert may store and use certain information for security purposes (for example, for user verification or authentication).

CHILDREN'S INFORMATION

Calvert does not knowingly permit children under 13 (or a higher age if required by applicable law in another country) to use our Services without prior, express consent from a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that Personal Information of a child under 13 has been collected on our Services without prior parental consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete this information. If you are a parent or legal guardian and discover that your child under the age of 13 (or a higher age if required by applicable law) has a registered account with our Services without your consent, please contact Calvert to request that we delete that child's personal information from our systems.

OUR SECURITY PRACTICES

We work hard to keep your information safe and secure. We use specialized tools and rules to protect your personal information from being stolen or seen by people who shouldn't see it.

Your accounts are protected by passwords. Keep these passwords a secret to stop others from getting into your accounts. If you think someone else knows your password, change it right away and let us know.

We take customary and reasonable measures designed to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of Personal Information collected on our Services when you send it to us and when we store it.

While we have taken customary and reasonable steps to protect the Personal Information we collect, no system is 100% fail-proof and secure. If Calvert detects a data breach affecting your Personal Information, we will notify you as required by law. For example, we may post a notice on our homepage or elsewhere on the Service and may e-mail you at the e-mail address you have provided to us. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing.

YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES

You may have certain rights to manage your Personal Information depending on where you live. To exercise any privacy rights available to you, please email privacy@imaginelearning.com or call us toll-free at 1-877-878-8045. Depending on your jurisdiction, the following rights may apply, subject to certain exceptions:

  • Information: You can request the following information about how we have collected and used your or your child's Personal Information during the past 12 months:
    • The categories of Personal Information that we have collected.
    • The categories of sources from which we collected Personal Information.
    • The business or commercial purpose for collecting and/or selling Personal Information.
    • The categories of third parties with whom we share Personal Information.
    • Whether we have disclosed your Personal Information for a business purpose, and if so, the categories of Personal Information received by each category of third-party recipient.
    • Whether we've sold your Personal Information, and if so, the categories of Personal Information received by each category of third-party recipient.
  • Access: You can request a copy of the Personal Information that we have collected about you during the past 12 months.
  • Correct: You can request we correct any inaccurate Personal Information we have collected about you, taking into account the nature of the Personal Information and the purpose of the processing of the Personal Information.
  • Delete: You can ask us to delete the Personal Information that we have collected from you.
  • Opt-out of sales: We do not sell Personal Information. If we plan to sell your Personal Information, you will be notified, and you can opt out. In addition, if you direct us not to sell your Personal Information, we will consider it a request pursuant to California's "Shine the Light" law to stop sharing your personal information covered by that law with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
  • Opt-out of sharing: You have the right to opt-out of sharing of your Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.
  • Nondiscrimination: You are entitled to exercise the rights described above free from discrimination in the form of legally prohibited increases in the price or decreases in the quality of our Services.
  • Appeal: Some states provide additional rights to their residents. If we decline to process your request, you may have the right to appeal our decision.

You can also update your account information or request to deactivate or delete your account by emailing us at privacy@imaginelearning.com.

We may need to check where you live to handle your requests, and we will need to make sure you are who you say you are to help with your requests to see, change, or delete your information. You might need to show a government ID for this process. If you want someone else to make a request for you, you must give them permission through a power of attorney, and both you and your agent will need to show valid government IDs. We can't work on your request if you don't give us enough details to understand and respond to it.

USERS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES

Consent to Transfer

The Services are operated in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Services, or providing us with any information, you fully understand and consent to this transfer, processing and storage of your information in the United States, a jurisdiction in which the privacy laws may not be as comprehensive as those in the country where you reside and/or are a citizen.

Legal Basis: Processing is necessary to perform the contract governing our provision of the Services or to take steps that you request prior to requesting the Services.

Processing Purpose: To operate the websites. To send marketing communications. To create anonymous data for analytics. For compliance, fraud prevention, and safety.
Legal Basis: These processing activities constitute our legitimate interests. We consider and balance the potential impact on our rights before we process your personal information for our legitimate interests. We do not use your personal information for activities where your data protection interests override these legitimate interests (unless we have your consent or are otherwise required or permitted to by law).

To determine the appropriate retention period for Personal Information, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information, the purposes for which we process your personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements. In some circumstances we may anonymize or de-identify your personal information (so that it can no longer be associated with you) in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

NOTICE OF CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to account for changes in our collection and/or processing of Personal Information, and we will post the updated Privacy Policy on our website, with a "last updated" date.
